So the rain came down till about 2. I got my suff together and went to get on my bike, then the rain started again. I ended up helping one of the guys who's working here fixing up one of their hire bikes for a while then decided to get the street car (tram) into town. There was a guy from the hostel at the stop and we got chatting. Matt, a Polish Ozzie guy who's on 1 10 week tour of Europe then the USA. We're both heading for the French Quarter so head off into the day together.

So the bar that was supposed to have live music on from 4.30 was pretty dead so after checking out some of the other options I head into 13 for a beer. Nice little bar with cheap beer and loads of veggie options on the menu including tofu! I sample food and beer. I still haven't managed to find the Sam Adams I had in White SulphuS Springs back in West Virginia but enjoy a few others. I somehow get to talking about ginocide (pint of cider with gin in - sounds bad, tastes great!) with the barmaid but I'm very happy to say I didn't have one.

I spent the morning editing and uploading photos. I hope you appreciate them. Even more so I hope you can see them. I put them on a Google site because the rich text editor isn't working on my site.

I spoke to Greg who's driving me to New Orleans and he doesn't know yet if he's leaving today or tomorrow, it depends on his work. He clads buildings in aluminium. I'm not sure why. Actually he measures and project manages while someone else clads buildings in aluminium.

I slept well sill near dawn, it seemed not so cold till the new morning chills set in and I had to gather the layers around me. By time Merril called i was awakish and still snug enough to enjoy the slumber.

Morning was beautiful as usual with mist on the lake and cinnamon on the overnight porridge. We packed up and chatted and I figured we were going to ride the day together. I wasn't sure what his plan was but I was glad of the company after 1500 miles or so of solo miles.

So, another day on the Natchez Trace Parkway. I slept pretty well in my campground that is actually only meant to be a picnic area. I think they're pretty free and easy with bike camping around here. They'd better be, there was over 80 miles from one bike campground to the next, even on a good day i couldn't do that many miles.

Another day, another 67 miles, another camp spot by a creek I can bathe in, nice.

I had planned to go to Opryland where The Grand Ole Opry is now recorded today but knew I had a few things to sort out which had to take priority. After getting back to the house after breakfast at about 1.30 it was never looking likely tho. Hey ho.
